Play With Your Rhythm Videos by Ethan Hein

Ethan Hein’s “Play with Your Rhythm” series enables new beat producers to understand the basic concepts of groove and rhythm creation.

Ethan Hein is a researcher at NYU’s within their Music Technology program and has started a blog to where he showcases findings from his master thesis on a constructivist iOS rhythm tutorial system for beginners.  He has been teaching, producing, and writing about music for the past 10 years and has been interested in the way that electronic production techniques have changed the way we make music.  Ethan has created a series of YouTube videos that focus on the basics of rhythm creation in a single bar of music.  He throughly explains the importance of swing, note placement, and syncopation while providing some very in-depth examples.  Check them out below and be sure to follow his blog for more updates at: http://www.ethanhein.com/wp/
