Privacy Policy

Last Modified on May 25, 2018

This Privacy Policy applies to www.wavedna.com and shopify.wavedna.com, and also to use of WaveDNA software.

For additional information please refer to our Cookie Policy and Terms of Use.

What information do we collect?

  • Information is collected about your browsing session if you choose to allow cookies. Cookies are necessary for any site function requiring logging in, including (but not limited to) making a purchase or accessing the user portal. You may, however, otherwise visit our site anonymously. For more information see our Cookie Policy.
  • We collect information from you when you register on our site, download a trial or beta version, make a purchase, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.
    • When filling out a download form of any kind (to download a trial version or update your existing software), you are automatically entered into our mailing database system (partitioned by product type), whereby you will be provided with links to an installer package for your chosen product and operating system. You will also be automatically subscribed to our newsletter where we will share news about WaveDNA, and contact you about updates to the software and occasional software-related promotional offers. We maintain your contact information in the form of name and email address. You can unsubscribe at any time; should you choose to do so we will remove your contact information from our mailing list.
    • When installing a trial version of our software, we keep track of the serial number and MAC address of the computer you install the trial on, and associate them with your email address and contact information. Every time the trial application starts up, the software will check your current computer’s serial number and MAC address against those registered on our license server, alongside verification that you still have available time remaining in your trial period, in order to proceed with the application launch.
    • When purchasing a product from our Shopify website, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and credit card information. For paid licenses obtained on our commerce platform, we do not collect the MAC address or serial number of the end user’s computer when the user registers their activation key.
    • For retail key registrations for Liquid Music sold by third parties, we collect and store the serial number of the computer when the retail key is first registered by the end user.
  • We also collect crash reports and error reports that users submit voluntarily. This will include the email address as provided by the user on the crash report form, as well as the user’s computer name, OS version and error data contained in the log files that are provided with the error report or crash report.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience. Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.
  • To improve our website. We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
  • To improve customer service. Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
  • To process transactions. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.
  • To send periodic emails. The email address you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.
  • To generate a license for the user in the WaveDNA license server.

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your credit card information will not be stored on our servers.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser — if you allow — that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information)

We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly.

For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties — Shopify, Zendesk, Google, Facebook, and Twitter — for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

(a) Third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads
(b) Visitors can opt-out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices
